OUR MISSION
The goal of Yemen Healthcare Project is to raise awareness within the American healthcare community about Yemen’s worsening health humanitarian crisis through our Advocacy, Public Health, and Ventilators teams.
ADVOCACYWe are working with the UCSF RAHI – Refugee and Asylum Health Seeker Initiative to co-sponsor a Panel on COVID-19 in Yemen. The goal is to increase awareness amongst the healthcare community about the specific health concerns that Yemen is facing. We are hoping to elevate the voices of local Yemeni physicians and Yemeni Americans that have been active in expanding awareness.

PUBLIC HEALTH CAMPAIGN Due to the complex political situation in Yemen, the messaging about the current reality of COVID-19 in Yemen is clear. After working with multiple local partners, there was a need identified to create a public health media campaign. This will involve videos that address ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to be inclusive of Yemen’s beautiful diversity of dialects.

VENTILATORSWe are working with YRRF to research the current open source models of ventillators and the feasibility and ethics of building low-cost ventillators in Yemen. We are searching for a team of engineers that are interested in supporting local Yemeni engineers.

There is no crisis right now that is more horrific than what is going on in Yemen. Half the population is facing famine. Half. Fourteen million people. They will starve to death if the Saudi blockade isn’t lifted, if aid isn’t allowed to come into the country, if trade isn’t resumed.
