Amal Altareb is a junior at Yale College from Memphis, TN. She majors in interdisciplinary Political Science and Modern Middle Eastern Studies and is a Human Rights Scholar at the Schell Center for International Human Rights. As a Yemeni-American, she is particularly interested in human rights violations, their aftermath, and transitional justice and reconciliation in Yemen, the Middle East, and the world in general. She is the president of the Middle Eastern and North African Students Association and the coordinator of the advocacy group Students for Yemen on campus. She is a board member of a humanitarian aid NGO, Yemen Aid Inc. She enjoys sleep, listening to music in different languages and finding high places to watch sunsets.

Laasya VallabhaneniLaasya Vallabhaneni is a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with minors in Biochemistry, Public Policy and Studio Art. She plans on pursuing medical school while entering a dual MPH or MPP program to learn about healthcare policy and global health. Her interests lie in health and well-being of underrepresented groups, working towards equitable healthcare for all populations. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and painting and hanging out with friends.

Sammer MarzoukSammer Marzouk is currently an undergraduate student at Harvard College. He is interested in studying Chemical and Physical Biology major, along with pursuing a minor in Global Health and Health policy and language citations in Arabic and Spanish. As a student who is interested in the intersection of medicine, healthcare, and applied science, Sammer is interested in being apart of the Yemeni project so that he can use the skills and experiences he’s gained throughout his schooling to serve the people of Yemen.
